Summary

The Fleet Coordinator will assist with managing a fleet of approximately 50 drivers/equipment at one or more locations. Must be able to assist with determining the most cost-effective method of providing transportation to support the Agency mission. Will also be responsible for the scheduling and planning of preventive maintenance and repairs of all fleet vehicles (AH owned and Non-AH owned) in a safe and timely manner, reducing lost productivity. The Fleet Coordinator shall ensure all repairs and maintenance to vehicles/equipment are performed in compliance with the Atlanta Housing safety and maintenance standards, and with all federal and state regulations.

Role and Responsibilities

• Assist with a preventative maintenance program to assure cost-effective maintenance. • Plan and prepare for regular inspections. • Monitors vehicle utilization and evaluation of equipment specifications. • Enforces safety practices and procedures and ensures drivers receive appropriate safety training before operating vehicles. • Assist with vehicle reservations, issuing vehicles, and signing vehicles back in. • Responsible for assisting with monitoring on-time pick-up and delivery of the vehicle, mileage, hours-of-service compliance, speed monitoring, idle times, fuel mileage, cost control, accident reporting. • Be the secondary point of contact for drivers, as it relates to gas card distribution, gas cards pin resetting, advances, maintenance coordination, performance briefing to the supervisor, dissemination of fleet utilization, and other various issues/concerns. • Ensure that each driver has an adequate understanding of all details of AH motor vehicle expectations vehicle rules and regulations. • Maintains contact with vehicles, receives and dispatches aid in response to any emergency needs for assistance or repairs. • Works within Atlanta Housing Motor Vehicle manual guidelines to handle challenging customer situations and resolve customer complaints. • Consolidate, monitor, and manage fuel usage data to ensure maximum cost-effective utilization is achieved across all businesses. • Conduct Quality Control Inspections, track issues, and issue resolution to ensure all works are properly completed and are in accordance with AH’s safety and compliance procedures, and federal and state regulations. • Assist with managing service operations to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations. • Assist with maintaining policies and procedures to coincide with Georgia Traffic Laws • Receives and carries out instructions of Fleet Manager in support of Agency goals. • Aid the Fleet manager on procedures and policies related to fleet management. • Complete routine analysis (such as the utilization of fleet) and recommend solutions. • Make recommendations to Fleet manager on vehicle replacement needs to be based upon maintenance costs, age, use, condition, and the needs of the project. • Assist with transportation and fleet studies to make recommendations for improvement by looking at records of use, replacement program, holdovers, costs, etc. to meet the AH's transportation equipment needs. • Assist in administering plans to reduce fuel consumption, mileage, and numbers of vehicles and equipment. • Make small purchases utilizing proper purchasing procedures for fleet maintenance and operation. • Assist the Fleet Manager in collecting data for reports and upward reporting.

Knowledge and skill requirements

• Associates and/ or bachelor’s degree. (Recommended) • 3- 5 years fleet (Required) • Strong computer skills • Attention to detail and accuracy • Strong work ethic with a professional, positive attitude • Ability to prioritize workload and thrive in a fast-paced environment • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; must be a team player and demonstrate the ability to coordinate with multiple associates • Strong customer service orientation

Working Conditions

Works in an office environment. May require frequent bending, stooping, reaching and prolonged sitting and/or standing. Frequent local travel which necessitates a valid State of Georgia driver’s license and be fully insurable for the purpose of obtaining clearance on company “Authorized Drivers List.” AH Authorized Driver or Assigned Vehicle.
