On Resilience

Writer: Exavious (Zā) Exavious (Zā)

History is a mirror. Its purpose in displaying the choices and respective results of humanity serve as one of life's greatest instructors. But without the attempt of we who are above ground to keep that reflective pane free from smudge, those lessons from the past lose the potency to inform a clear path forward.

Black professional woman walking through open doors.

Today, as the year 2025 begins to unfold, we are reminded that unjust preference, distracting opinions, and immoral bias remain intimately woven in the fabric of American business. As we witness affirmative action's latest iteration (DEI) yanked from under corporate foot, many find themselves without - gainful employment; job place support they once deemed trustworthy; a sense of hope for centuries-due progress. Far from a sweeping reality, as companies with integrity refuse to waiver on their people-first commitments, the sharp reverberations from federally endorsed actions have still delivered a gut punch that have many gasping.

Breathe...

None of this is new. We've seen and lived this before. And like every prior version, we are positioned for progress. Black Fleet Network wants to remind you that your acumen, hustle, creativity, and tenacity are transcendent. And because this [BFN] collective exists, the unifying component that forwards families and undergirds industry serves as a bonding agent we can no longer afford to be without. Isolation has never been acceptable and no longer has to be the norm. Access should've never been limited. Therefore, we're proud to be a conduit of that which elevates careers and creates opportunity.

Bottom line, we're standing firm in our commitment to support Black professionals in fleet, transportation, mobility, and beyond. Our leaning is toward people, not politics. So, regardless of who holds office and what programs are heavily funded, disputed, or trashed per executive order, one thing remains constant at BFN…

Our doors are open.
